  • Named after the Shiro Utsuri koi fish, they boast a beautiful white body adorned with black spots, creating a Dalmatian-like pattern.

  • They have a square, flattened body shape with a broad white "skirt" and a cute "ducky face".

  • They are relatively large, growing up to 2cm in length.

Behavior:

  • Known for being very active and inquisitive, they readily explore their enclosure and can often be seen climbing on plants and surfaces.

  • They are considered one of the most "friendly" isopod species, readily accepting handling and displaying curiosity.

  • They have a strong feeding response and eagerly consume a variety of foods.

Care:

  • Habitat: They thrive in warm, humid environments with temperatures between 75-80°F and humidity levels of 50% or higher.

  • Enclosure: A shoebox-sized plastic container with moderate ventilation is a good starting point.
